NEWS RELEASE
MARIPOSA ARTS THEATRE
************************
Mariposa Arts Theatre’s Film Nights has been dedicated for over 25 years to bringing outstanding films to Orillia audiences. Wednesday, March 27, is no different, as the featured film is Perfect Days, nominated as best international feature film at this year’s Academy Awards, and universally praised by critics.

Vox called it “a poem of extraordinary subtlety and beauty.”

Lead actor Koji Yakusho took home the top acting prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his part in this film.

Perfect Days is the unlikely story of a Tokyo toilet cleaner. As he goes about his job, he pauses to observe and savour the everyday pleasures of life.

The film becomes a sort of exercise in mindfulness, leading the viewer to meditate on their own life and find joy in the smallest, simplest moments.

Perfect Days is not an action-filled blockbuster, but it is the sort of movie that anyone who values thoughtfulness, joy and beauty presented with outstanding artistry will want to see.

Perfect Days plays at Orillia Galaxy Cinemas on Wednesday, March 27, for two showings, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Tickets go on sale at the door starting at 3 p.m for both shows, and again at 6 p.m. for the evening show. Tickets cost $10 regular admission, $5 student admission, payable by cash, debit or credit..
