Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the death of a woman in Wasaga Beach.

Sgt. Jason Folz of the OPP said a passerby discovered the body of a woman believed to be in her 50s while in the area of River Road West between Westbury Road and Beck Street.

According to Folz, OPP are working with the crime unit and the chief coroner's office to investigate the death.

The area has been reopened and the body has been removed from the roadside.

Folz expected there would be an autopsy in the next few days.
