Take a trip down Memory Lane

Couchiching Beach Park was a busy place in the 1950s

Postcard Memories is a weekly series of historic postcard views and photos submitted by Marcel Rousseau. Some were previously published by the Orillia Museum of Art and History and in the book Postcard Memories Orillia.

This photo postcard shows Couchiching Beach Park in the 1950s. Depicted is a very active summer day near the beach with fully-occupied benches and children’s swings in the idyllic setting that has attracted generations of local families and visitors to the lakeside park. There is no date on this photo, however the early 1950s panel truck with the Stewart Studio name on its side (not clearly seen here) provides us with clues to the time and photographer.
