Sherri Bell, a first-time candidate, demonstrates leadership through collaboration.

For more than a year, she’s dedicated herself to a local Commission working with members of Ramara council, township staff and co-volunteers to balance ecologically sound management of Lagoon City’s parks and waterways with responsible spending of ratepayer dollars.

When current Ward 5 Councillor, and fellow Commissioner, Kal Johnson announced he would not seek a third term, Sherri sharpened her pencil authoring a plan to entrench herself in community service by helping her neighbours in the newly-expanded Ward 5 engage with the township on critical issues.

Sherri is strongly committed to governance that serves the many while respecting the one. At the late August outset of her campaign, she embarked on a neighbourhood walk visiting each home in Ward 5 to listen for what is most important to folks all across the Ward.

She learned, while her neighbours’ wishes are diverse, there’s a ‘Fundamental 5’ she’ll focus on: Expansion of Municipal Services, Enhancement of Services provided by ‘Good Doctors Ramara’, Governance of Short Term Rental Accommodations, Protection of Ramara’s Natural Spaces, Creatures and Waterways and Community Connection through Ongoing Engagement.

Sherri and her spouse, Drew, are proud to call Ramara Township home and have been since their arrival in 2015. An avid gardener, she invites all manner of furry, flying and even flightless friends to her yard. Sherri and Drew can be spotted on daily walks and welcome neighbourly conversation with passers by.

Sherri's strategic thinking, honed through years of public and private sector experience, sees her arrive at decision-making delivered with her singular ‘No Nonsense’ brand, “I describe myself as the author of top-notch public relations strategy which can be applied in any market. I’ve spear-headed everything from Employee Engagement to Internal and External Communication and Advocacy ensuring all stakeholder needs are met”.

Sherri is passionate about fostering a prosperous Ramara, “Creating a culture where residents participate in a healthy, community-focused and fiscally responsible future allows us to whole-heartedly embrace the Ramara lifestyle,” asserts Sherri.
