An Oro-Medonte resident since 2019, my wife and I are delighted to be raising our family of six, Lucas (6), Jacob (4), Chloe (almost 2) and Mayan (our 12-year-old pup) here. I have deep roots and fond childhood memories of this community since three generations of my mother’s family has lived on the 3rd Line Caldwell family farm.
My interest in running for council was reinforced this summer while talking with my uncle, a former Oro council member and deputy reeve. Previously a volunteer firefighter in Springwater Township, I was looking for an opportunity to serve this community. My uncle’s enthusiasm about the wealth of knowledge he gained from those years of community service was inspiring.
My professional background is facility management. I currently work at OPP headquarters in Orillia as a Facility Management Coordinator, helping build the future infrastructure to support the provincial police. My experience in project management and meeting timelines will support this community well as I know the importance of active listening and negotiations.
My wife’s work as a nurse practitioner has given me a solid grasp of the pressing issues of today related to health, housing, the ongoing impact of COVID and the current economic climate.
I’m new to politics but believe I’m an ideal candidate, interested in helping, learning and providing a different set of eyes and ears on issues that affect families. I’m motivated to learn and be part of a team that supports the community. I would love and appreciate the support of Ward 5 voters on Oct. 24.
