The Lakehead University Faculty Association (LUFA) and Lakehead University Student Union (LUSU) will be holding a panel discussion with the Ontario candidates on May 20 at 12 p.m. via Zoom to discuss issues facing universities in Ontario.

“We are interested to hear where the candidates stand on issues facing Ontario universities,” says Gautam Das, Lakehead physics professor and president of LUFA, “specifically, the areas of contract faculty equity, making education accessible for students, and funding for Ontario universities.”

Among those invited to the hour-long panel discussion are Elizabeth Van Houtte (NDP), Aaron Cayden Hiltz (Liberal), Krystal Brooks (Green) and Jill Dunlop (PC).

“Students deserve a government that is committed to increasing OSAP and providing grants, not loans, to ensure an accessible post-secondary system for everyone,” says Lahama Naeem, LUSU president and CEO.

If you are interested in attending, please register for the Zoom event by May 20 via https://lakeheadu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_VIbwiAFIRNm5hrDawnLSTQ.
