Adopt Me: Zelda may be small, but she is fierce (adopted)

Her eye sight and hearing are a little bit less than perfect, but she has the spirit of a much younger dog

OrilliaMatters, in partnership with the SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Hey there, my name is Zelda and I am a seven-year-old miniature dachshund. I am a little sweetheart who would love to find my forever home for the holidays.

I may be small in stature, but I have a big personality and love to make new friends! I would love a home where I can be around humans most of the day as I get a little anxious when I’m left alone for long periods of time.

Coming in to the Orillia Animal Centre, I was a bit nervous. But I quickly learned that the staff is wonderful and they just want to take care of me. They have discovered that I am a bit particular about which treats I eat, and also that I enjoy snuggling under my blankets.

I’ve also started playing with my toys and love to roll around, especially if someone rubs my belly. I just love being the centre of attention, and some might call me a little princess.

Because of my age, my eye sight and hearing are a little bit less than perfect, but I have the spirit of a much younger dog. I used to live with some feline friends and wouldn’t mind sharing my home with new furry pals.

I would love to meet with you today to talk about how well I would fit into your home. Please come and visit me on the adoption floor at the SPCA Orillia Animal Centre. I look forward to seeing your smiling faces soon!
