The Cellar Singers are hosting a live gala evening, our first since the pandemic.

Join us on April 15, 2023 at 7 p.m. at St. James’ Anglican Church, 58 Peter St. N., Orillia.

Huge thanks to all of you who participated in our virtual gala, Here Comes the Sun, last spring. However, nothing beats the fun and excitement of being in a room together, enjoying live entertainment, good food and good-natured competition for auction items.

This year’s gala evening is called Puttin’ on the Ritz, with hats off to the ’20s and ’30s. The decor is over-the-top art deco. I can’t wait to see the Stubley auditorium of St. James’ Anglican Church transformed into a roaring ’20s nightclub.

You may only know the Cellar Singers as classically trained choristers. Trust me, there is so much more to discover in songs and music from the first half of the 20th century provided by our very own choristers and musicians. We’re even including a Charleston dance demo and lesson.

The silent auction will begin virtually April 11 and go live at the gala itself. We’ll send out a link to the auction a few days before the live event. Even if you can’t attend in person, you can support the choir by bidding virtually. All auction items will be delivered to the purchaser after the event.

Fancy dress is encouraged but not required. Come and have a good time, bring your friends and family, and continue to support beautiful choral music concerts and events in the Simcoe-Muskoka area.

Tickets are $40 per person, available from choristers, through Eventbrite and at the door. There are only 110 tickets available, so get yours early.
