Award winning local Indie artist Lyric Dubee is coming back to celebrate his recent accomplishment of International Entertainer of the Year at the ISSA (International Singer Songwriter Association) Awards which took place on Aug. 3 in Atlanta, Ga.
Lyric, who was born in Barrie but now lives in Orillia, will return on Aug. 23 from a four-month music residency in Bermuda to perform at the Georgian Triangle Music Festival in Wasaga Beach Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. to perform songs from his newest album All This Time which was released in late April.
At 21, Lyric is no stranger to international performances with four albums released before he was 18. In 2015 he toured Asia with the double album release and is scheduled to head back to China Sept. 21 to perform at the Nanyang Music Festival.
Lyric started his career in 2011 at age 12 when he released his first album and the signs were clear he had something special as he won Best Young Songwriter at the Barrie New Music Festival.
Since then he has gone on to win multiple awards including 2015 Toronto Independent Music Awards for the Best Young Songwriter and now in 2019 International Entertainer of the Year.
Lyric was scheduled to return home for his Saturday performance at Roxodus in July but, after the festivals' last-minute cancellation, he remained in Bermuda. Lyric is offering a private meet and greet at his next show in Wasaga along with a special discount on his new line of merch for any fans who bought Roxodus tickets.
Lyric is concerned with the plight of our environment and released his newest CD without the traditional plastic cd cases and instead decided to have the cases made out of recycled material to reduce waste heading to the landfill.
You can get his newest CD and merchandise on his website.
Be sure to follow him on YouTube where you will see his newest video. Wait for the surprise ending!
"Lyric Dubee is a natural born star, he plays guitar like his life depended on it and sings his own songs with the sincerity needed to cut through a lot of today's manufactured music" - Dave Stewart, Eurthymics
