Laura Thompson has contributed significantly to the City of Orillia's economic development through her work as the senior manager of business development.
Named among the top 10 members of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario in 2021, Thompson has made a clear legacy of fostering business development in Orillia.
Her passion for innovation has sparked many forward-thinking projects, such as the Downtown Tomorrow Community Improvement Plan grant program, the XcelerateHER business accelerator program and the See You on the Patio program, all of which have served to bolster the local economy.
Thompson continues to be a leading voice for the business community, allowing more economic development to flourish within and beyond Orillia.
