Reporting to both the Principal (Lakehead University Orillia) and the Vice-President (Administration and Finance), the Associate Vice-President (Orillia Campus) has oversight of administrative operations at the Orillia campus in compliance with University policies and procedures, aligned with the University's Strategic, Academic Plan and the Lakehead Orillia Campus Outlook, and that they are delivered in coordinated fashion at the Lakehead Orillia campus. The administrative areas of on-site oversight include finance, human resources, technology services, security, physical plant, and ancillary services including residence operations, food and conference services.

The Associate Vice-President also works with the Principal in developing annual and long range plans to support the advancement of the Orillia Campus. As a key member of the Lakehead Orillia leadership team, this individual, when appropriate, will represent the Principal of the Orillia campus at strategic meetings and discussions with community leaders. Working with the Principal, collaborating with various levels of community members and government officials, drafting documents, and public speaking at events to promote and advance Lakehead Orillia within Simcoe County will be regular activities of this role.

The ideal candidate for this role has a University degree, ideally at the graduate level, accompanied by at least 8 years of management level experience within the postsecondary environment (at least 5 at a senior management level). A strong background in public speaking, networking and relationship management, critical incident debriefing/diffusing, emergency preparedness, academic event management (convocation), budgetary management, and experience supervising teams is required. Familiarity with postsecondary student issues, Indigenous initiatives, athletics and recreation programming, and health and wellness is considered a strong asset.
