County offering virtual panel for struggling local business owners

MIDHURST –  On July 9, the county and area partners invite representatives from local businesses and organizations to join a panel of leading legal experts to learn how to best respond to and manage challenges that threaten their business in these unprecedented times as part of the virtual “Ask an Expert” series.

Moderated by Don Jack, one of Canada’s leading business litigators, the panel will include Pavle Masic and Jason Dutrizac of DS Avocats, insolvency and bankruptcy experts, and Andrew Camman of Polishuk, Camman and Steel and David Law of Law at Work, senior leading employment and labour lawyers.

This panel will provide valuable “need to know” information and invaluable takeaways to help businesses overcome this pandemic, including:  

  • Restructuring a business to prevent painful legal actions and shutdowns
  
  • Addressing expensive employment issues such as downsizing
  
  • Pursuing collections on outstanding debts
 
  • Protecting personal assets
  
  • Accessing available government assistance programs
 
  • Understanding legal actions that may arise and how best to address them


There will also be an opportunity for businesses to pose questions to experts during a live Q&A sessio­n.
