Georgian College announced Friday that all in-person classes at its seven campuses will be suspended from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 "as we work to move to remote delivery of our programs."

"The decision to suspend classes was not taken lightly, but the health and well-being of our Georgian community is our priority," said college president MaryLynn West-Moynes.

Online classes are not impacted and will continue as scheduled.

College campuses — which are located in Barrie, Midland, Collingwood, Orillia, Bracebridge, Orangeville, and Owen Sound — will remain open.

"Employees are expected to report for work, however we will be encouraging and implementing flexible work arrangements where we are able," said West-Moynes. "We will also be adopting measures that support social distancing and minimize personal contact to create a safer work and learning environment."
