Orillia mayor urges people to take care of one another amid pandemic

'It's OK not to be OK,' says mayor, who applauds provincial funding for mental-health supports put in place to help during the pandemic

Orillia Mayor Steve Clarke is urging people to consider the mental toll of the global pandemic.

While many are focusing on the potential physical impacts of the dreaded coronavirus, the pandemic has created fear and anxiety among many, the mayor notes.

He urges people to rely on recently announced provincial programs aimed at mental health and to call the free 211 provincial service to access supports.

The mayor also urges citizens to take care of one another - especially the vulnerable - during this time of uncertainty.
