OrilliaMatters received the following letter from the superintendent of Mariposa Place, who helped save the life of a resident who has accidentally set himself on fire on May 1.

I would like to thank all the professional services that responded to that night, like the fire department, paramedics and police.

Also, a special thanks to Angela Lippensky (regional manager for DMS Property Management) for coming up to support me that night, and a big thank you to North Simcoe Victim Services. They really care and have compassion.

And, last but not least, thank you to the tenants of my building, having the patience and encouraging comments as I work through this.

I would also thank my wife for being able to listen and support me.

Everything is getting better day by day. Thanks again, everyone.

Scott Irwin
