The Orillia District Chamber of Commerce will host a Simcoe North all-candidates night May 24 so residents can hear from those running in June's provincial election.

The event will start at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at the Orillia City Centre.

Each candidate will be allowed seven minutes for his or her opening speech and a two-minute summation at the end of the question period.

Media will be given 30 minutes to ask questions.

The chamber of commerce will ask three questions of the candidates. The Lakelands Association of Realtors, which is co-sponsoring the event, will ask one question. Any time remaining will be used to allow questions from the public. All questions must be submitted in writing by 6 p.m. on the day of the event and take no longer than 45 seconds to ask.

The event will end at 8:30 p.m.

The provincial election is June 7. Running in Simcoe North are Jill Dunlop (Progressive Conservative), Gerry Marshall (Liberal), Valerie Powell (Green) and Elizabeth Van Houtte (NDP).
