INTERCOUNTY BASEBALL LEAGUE

BARRIE – Branfy Infante homered twice and drove in six to lead the Barrie Baycats to an 11-1 win over the Hamilton Cardinals in Game 1 of their best-of-seven semifinal Thursday night at Coates Stadium.
Infante hit a three-run blast in the fifth and added another in the seventh. He also singled once and scored three times.
Glenn Jackson drove in a pair, Jeff Cowan had an RBI and three runs, Tim Smith had two singles and two runs, Kyle DeGrace went 2-for-4 with a run, and Ryan Spataro added an RBI.
Frank Garces (2-0) picked up the win, going eight innings and allowing an unearned run on six hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts.
Connor Bowie went 3-for-4 for the Cardinals. Laine Renaud singled and scored.
Josh Freeman (0-1) took the loss, allowing eight runs on nine hits in five innings. He walked four and struck out one.
