NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF ORILLIA
*************************
The City of Orillia will be removing biosolids, the treated solids component of human waste, from the Wastewater Treatment Centre’s storage lagoons beginning the week of Aug. 27.

This work will take approximately one-and-a-half to two weeks to complete.

Haulage is highly dependent on weather, so if there is wet weather, the haulage will be delayed.

During this period, some odours may be generated when the biosolids are mixed in the lagoons so they can be pumped into the tanker trucks and then removed. This has been the standard practice for years, but staff will do everything we can to minimize odours during this period.

For more information please contact the Wastewater Treatment Centre at 705-326-1066
