The need for blood is constant. Despite that, less than 4 per cent of eligible donors give blood each year.

And as summer nears, the need is about to become even more ugent. Sadly, during the summer months, the number of accidents rises while attendance at clinics decline as people head off on vacations.

You can help improve a person's odds for survival by donating blood.

And as you think about that, consider this fact: There’s a 50% chance you or someone you know will need blood at some point in their life.

Right now, somewhere in Canada, someone needs a blood transfusion to survive. You have the power to give them life.

Canadian Blood Services is holding blood donation clinics in Orillia in July.

The clinics will take place, by appointment only, July 7 and 11 from 1 to 7 p.m. and at the Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn and Conference Centre at 400 Memorial Ave.

To book an appointment, visit blood.ca or call 1-888-2DONATE.
