The RCMP believe they have found the bodies of Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, and Kam McLeod, 19, the two B.C. men accused in three murders who have been hunted by police for weeks.
The search for the pair has focused on the remote area around the town of Gillam in northeastern Manitoba, since a burned-out Toyota RAV4 they were driving was found there July 22.
Police discovered items belonging to Schmegelsky and McLeod on the shore of the Nelson River, near Gillam, last Friday, the break in the case the RCMP said led to the discovery of what is believed to be the dead bodies of the accused killers. An autopsy is scheduled to confirm the identities.

Schmegelsky and McLeod were charged with second-degree murder in the death of University of British Columbia lecturer Leonard Dyck, whose body was found last month in northern B.C.
Police also considered the men suspects in the shooting of Australian Lucas Fowler and his American girlfriend Chynna Deese, who were found dead on the Alaska Highway near Liard Hot Springs, B.C.
RCMP said on the weekend that a damaged aluminum boat was also discovered in the Gillam area.
