Over 70 indie bands from all over Canada head to Cookstown this Sept. 16 to 18 to showcase their unique sound in an exciting, interactive three-day music festival.

Gussapolooza Music Festival is a one-of-a-kind, three-day, interactive, non-stop extravaganza and celebration of Canadian independent music and art.

The festival dedicates itself to emerging artists showcasing over 70 performances on three stages from some of Canada’s best up-and-coming musical talents. Each year the festival draws in music lovers, filmmakers, painters, craft makers, radio stations, music curators, indie labels, small businesses and many others, making a magical networking ecosystem for all. Finding a brand new home this year at the Georgian Bay Steam Show grounds in Cookstown, the festival is set to have its biggest and best year yet.

“It’s an interactive, new form of festival experience that will engage and introduce music lovers and festival goers to up-and-coming Canadian musical talents and art while also creating great opportunities for independent artists to grow their brands and launch their careers. Think of it as SXSW meets America’s Got Talent with a few twists.” — Russell Robson (founder and organizer)

Gussapolooza Music Festival offers a wide variety of different genres including rock bands, country singers, hip-hop artists and singer/songwriters from all over Canada to showcase their original music for a chance to win the festival’s grand prizes including cash, radio air time, music gear, studio time, and much more. At this all-ages event, attendees get to vote for their favourite acts, meet the artists, and discover new music.

Festival goers enjoy a full weekend of RV and tent camping, music, comedy, street performers, food trucks, beer tents, arts, crafts, vendors, workshops and more. Artists are promoted on the festival website, www.gussapolooza.com, and across all social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook @gussapolooza prior to the festival so music lovers may sample and discover their favourite acts to support.

“We want to bring attention to these great bands and artists by giving them and festival goers something new and exciting. We intend to ignite our local independent music scene to new great heights and help emerging artists take it to the next level. We believe this festival can do it all and that people are going to fall in love with it.” — Valerie Robson (main organizer)
