Today, the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce (ODCC) and United Way Simcoe Muskoka have partnered to provide PPE to local businesses.
Allan Lafontaine, Executive Director of the ODCC, said “this program will allow businesses in our community to access free PPE. We know businesses have been struggling through the pandemic and we hope this will help alleviate some of their expenses as they look to re-open in the coming weeks.”
The program will allow any local business to access disposable daily protective masks.
“We could not have brought this initiative to life if it wasn’t for the help of Suzanne Prosser and the entire team at United Way Simcoe Muskoka," said Lafontaine.
Suzanne Prosser is a Relationship Manager at United Way Simcoe Muskoka, who knows many are struggling.
“We know that more people than ever are experiencing hurdles during their everyday lives. These masks are sure to provide some relief for those who have been struggling during this pandemic, and we are proud to be able to distribute them in our communities," said Prosser.
United Way Simcoe Muskoka received a donation of more than 100,000 masks from Toronto-based Nanoleaf to distribute throughout Simcoe County and Muskoka to help local organizations stay safe and healthy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
