HALLOWEEN COSTUME SWAP

During the month of October, bring your child’s out-grown Halloween costumes to exchange for a larger size or donate costumes that are not being used! To view costumes, please visit the Ramara Centre branch. This is a great opportunity to help out children in our community!

SKINAMARINK STORY TIME
Friday, Oct. 5 to Nov. 30 at 10:30 a.m.
Ages 0 – 5
Welcome back fall! With the new season, your story time is back! Rebecca is looking forward to welcoming families, as well as new faces, to have fun at the library! Take part by singing songs, using your senses, reading stories and socializing with others.

In celebration of Fire Prevention Week (Friday, Oct. 12), join Rebecca and a local firefighter to celebrate our local heroes in a special story time with our friends!

HARVEST BOOK BINGO
Tuesday, Oct. 9 to Saturday, Dec. 15
Do you ever reminisce about your reading days when you were a kid? Here’s a chance to relive those days by playing our Harvest Book Bingo (the grown-up version!). Drop by either branch to pick up your Bingo Card, read books that match the categories on the front of the Bingo Card, write the titles on the back and turn it in to be entered into a draw for a $75.00 gift certificate at Theo’s Eatery. Draw to be held on Tuesday, December 18th.

ONTARIO PUBLIC LIBRARY WEEK
October 14-20
Visit either branch during this special week to use our resources (check out items, use computers, etc.) and fill out a ballot for a chance to win a prize! All library card holders can participate.

In addition we will be holding our annual “fine forgiveness week”, all fines will be forgiven when overdue items are returned during this week.

Please note, this does not apply to previous incurred fines, lost or damaged items.

Did you know 211 is a free helpline and website that connects you to community and social services in your area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in over 150 languages. Come and hear more about this free service that is available to our community.

VAL LOSSELL - HER STORY
Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m.
The magic inherent in making art has played a central role in recovery for Valerie. Eight years on from a career-ending brain and spinal cord injury, Valerie now uses "was" for teacher and "is" for artist. Working in various mediums inspired by art has helped her in the slow process of reframing the unhelpful and allowing space for new ways of being to emerge.

PHOTOGRAPHY IN MOTION, WITH DAVID T. CHAPMAN 
Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
Join us for an opportunity to see how everyday things develop and finish. Everything from shooting stars, Aurora Borealis, thunderstorms and cities that come to life after the sun has gone down. This presentation is a real crowd-pleaser because of its constant movement involving interesting subjects.
