Christmas comes early thanks to Community Foundation

Eight local organizations benefit thanks to donation from Connor Clark and Lunn Foundation

By now, most of the community is aware of the Community Foundation of Orillia and Area. In the past year the Foundation granted over $200,000 to local charities.

These grants are, for the most part, from the investment returns of their endowment funds and this holiday season the company who manages these funds, The Connor, Clark and Lunn Financial Group, provided an extra Christmas present to the CFOA in the form of a $5,000 donation from the Connor Clark and Lunn Foundation.

The donation was to directly assist local charities in particular need of funds during the holiday season. This is the fifth year the CFOA has received this gift from the CC&L Foundation. As a result the following charities will receive a CFOA grant;

  • The Sharing Place Food Bank-$1,000
  • The Salvation Army Orillia- $1,000
  • North Simcoe Victim Crisis Services- $500
  • Couchiching Jubilee House- $500
  • Green Haven Shelter for Women- $500
  • The Orillia Lighthouse Soup Kitchen & Shelter - $500
  • Orillia Youth Centre- $500
  • Early Years Centre Simcoe North Emergency Baby Needs Depot - $500
