NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF ORILLIA
*************************
The City of Orillia is declaring a significant weather event on March 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. in respect to the forecasted rainfall that has the potential to produce 25 mm of rain within a 24-hour period. This declaration will continue until further notice.

Potentially heavy rains and positive temperatures have the potential to create ponding and flooding conditions throughout the City due to a combination of snow melt and rainfall.

In anticipation of the event, City staff have and will continue to remove accumulated snow over the City’s drainage system to reduce the probability of ponding and flooding conditions.

Please call the Operations Division of the Environmental Services and Operations Department at 705-326-4585 should you have any immediate concerns.

Users of the roads and sidewalks in the City are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and use caution if doing so.
