A total of 73 inspections, which included transport trucks, dump trucks, and other commercial type motor vehicles were undertaken and by the end of the day, 30 vehicles were taken out of service as a result of mechanical or other related issues.

The continued focus at keeping Simcoe County roads safe is a cooperative effort and the expertise that is found within area police services in the form of Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspectors, along with the continued support of our external partners helps to promote the safety of all road users throughout Simcoe County.

A total of:

  • 24 Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) charges laid
  • 35 other Provincial Offences Act charges laid
  • one driver was charged with impaired operation (non CMV)

Simcoe County is a gateway for commerce, recreation and tourism and the collective efforts of all the participating agencies reflect a solid commitment to the safe movement of all types of motor vehicles during periods of both favourable and inclement weather.

As a collective group, the Simcoe County Policing Authorities will continue to explore other initiatives to enhance the safety and security of all those live, work and play within this part of the province.
