Cottage CountryCon is ready to welcome vendors, celebrities, and fans of comic books and pop culture back to their popular one-day extravaganza.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday, July 23 at the Quality Inn and Conference Centre on Woodside Drive. Fans will be able to meet wrestling legends The Killer Bees, Arthur Suydam, an artist of comic books Marvel Zombies, Deadpool and Black Panther, and Dragon Ball Z voice actor Linda Young.

“Everybody is a Dragon Ball Z fan, and the movie is coming out this summer,” says Cottage CountryCon organizer Carmine De Santo. “People really love Linda and are excited to meet her.”

The event will also include a tabletop board game room, celebrity vehicles like Knight Rider and the General Lee, as well as access to the 201 Grill and Game Bar, which is on site. There will also be 80 vendors selling comic books and action figures.

“The collectible market right now is on fire,” De Santo said. “All of these movies are coming out and people are excited with what is going on in the industry.”

He says Cottage CountryCon is the perfect event for folks looking to upgrade their fan caves.

“It’s an exciting time to be in toys, comic books, or pop culture in general,” he said. “There are record sales all over the world for comic books. There is an increasing demand in the po-culture community and people are excited to be in it.”

This year’s Cottage CountryCon will be the first without COVID-19 restrictions, which De Santo says has made it more appealing to fans and vendors alike.

“We have vendors coming from places like Ottawa, Montreal and Winnipeg,” he says. “People are very excited.”

Tickets for the event cost $20. Kids younger than 11 get in for free. Tickets and more information can be found or here.
