NEWS RELEASE
ROOTS NORTH MUSIC FESTIVAL
********************
The Roots North Music Festival was created to encourage everyone to come together and support Downtown Orillia businesses and local artists after a long winter, but with the current situation that is still present in our community today, coming together in person is not the responsible thing to do at this time.

Because of this, we regretfully have made the choice to once again postpone our upcoming festival that was scheduled to take place April 22 to 24, 2021. We are however pleased to announce that Juno nominated artist Begonia is confirmed for our 2022 festival!

Even though we can’t be together in person, we are also excited to announce that a video production is planned to take place for you to enjoy at no cost for anyone that would like to tune in.

This presentation will be available on YouTube, Facebook and we are in discussion with Rogers TV to broadcast on five stations throughout Simcoe County direct to your home.

The show will feature Alex Andrews & Marta Solek, Craig Mainprize, Darrin Davis & Amy Jefferies, Sam Johnston, Sean Patrick, and Zachary Lucky, all local artists performing a variety of fantastic music.

The broadcast will be captured with beautiful visuals courtesy of our friend and dedicated supporter Tyler Knight from KnightVision Media and it will be professionally mixed by our long-time sound engineer Mark Webster.

All health and safety precautions will be strictly followed during filming of this show. Keeping with our festival's main goal, all money spent on this production is staying local which is important now more than ever!

We are kindly encouraging patrons to hold on to their tickets for use at our next festival being tentatively scheduled for April 21 to 23, 2022. As a not-for-profit group, keeping your ticket rather than requesting a refund will help immensely to keep our small organization financially viable. We will however honour any ticket refund requests and they can be initiated at this link.

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the festival and the organizing committee that plans it each year for your enjoyment. Your encouragement and appreciation for what we put together as a volunteer board makes all the work very fulfilling and assists to keep us motivated.
