At Monday night’s council meeting, the appointments of dozens of citizens to various committees were approved.
The following citizens have been re-appointed for a three-year term to expire Nov. 14, 2021:
- Lily Cadeau to the Accessibility Advisory Committee
- Shawna Ballik to the Farmers’ Market Management Committee
- Kathy Webb as a vendor representative to the Farmers’ Market Management Committee
- Paul Sheridan to the Recreation Advisory Committee
- Amy Wagner to the Recreation Advisory Committee
- Terrance Gole to the Transit Advisory Committee
The following citizens have been re-appointed for a four-year term to expire Nov. 14, 2022, which matches the end of this council term:
- Richard Bates, Joe Fecht to the Committee of Adjustment and Property Standards Committee
- Jane Bonsteel, Bob Bowles, Tyler Hunt, Lindsay Telfer and Michael Williams to the Environmental Advisory Committee
- Fay McFarlane and Julie Bailey to the Licensing Appeal Tribunal
- Lisa Avery and Barbara Dickson to the Orillia Public Library Board
- Keith Duncan, Peter Gumbrell and Shaun Wakefield to the Waste Management Advisory Committee
The following have been appointed for a three-year term to expire November 14, 2021:
- Lorraine Jelly to the Accessibility Advisory Committee
- Susan McGraw to the Commemorative Awards Committee
- Kristine Hoysa as a Citizen representative to the Farmers' Market Management Committee
- Gay Guthrie to the Municipal Heritage Committee
- Paul Powers to the Orillia Youth Opportunities Committee
- Katie Kirton to the Town and Gown Committee
- Jodie Wilson to the Transit Advisory Committee
The following have been appointed for a four-year term to expire Nov. 14, 2022:
- Ted Southorn to the Committee of Adjustment and Property Standards Committee
- Javier Cappella and Stan Mathewson to the Environmental Advisory Committee
- Karen Hewitt, Elizabeth Hutt, Christi Seiberling-Spriggs and Kelly Seymour to the Orillia Public Library Board
- Barb Shakell-Barkey to the Waste Management Advisory Committee
The following members will receive a letter of appreciation from Council for having served a maximum term with their respective committees:
- Betsy Gross on the Commemorative Awards Committee since December 2012
- Paul Raymond on the Commemorative Awards Committee since November 2012
- Wayne Scanlon on the Committee of Adjustment and Property Standards Committee since January 2011
- Rick Fraracci on the Orillia Police Services Board since December 2010
- Kevin Lehman on the Orillia Youth Opportunities Committee since April 2012
- Gord Launchbury on the Transit Advisory Committee since January 2011
