UPDATE:
The body of the kayaker was recovered near the Bracebridge Falls at approximately 3 p.m. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. The name of the kayaker has not been released.

An elderly man is missing after a kayak mishap in the Bracebridge Falls area earlier today.
Details are scant, but members of the Bracebridge OPP are currently searching the Bracebridge River and Bracebridge Falls area for the 81-year-old Bracebridge man after his kayak overturned.
The OPP underwater search and recovery unit is on scene to assist with this ongoing situation.
