ROOTS NORTH MUSIC FESTIVAL
********************
The Roots North Music Festival is thrilled to present The Hillbirds at a brand new downtown Orillia venue, Jim Ostler Contracting.
Pulling inspiration from artists like Alanis Morissette, Echosmith, and Fleetwood Mac, The Hillbirds have a unique and captivating sound which matches perfectly with their fun and energetic live performances.
"Their use of solo trumpet in a pop band is an electrifying and defining aspect of the music [...] On stage, The Hillbirds are a pleasure to watch and hear. The interplay between band members is appealing and one senses that audiences of all ages could easily gravitate to their songs and live shows." - Douglas McLean (The Huntsville Doppler)
Performing for the first time in early 2019, The Hillbirds have had a great run so far including performances at The Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto), opening for Craig Cardiff and The Trews at Barrie's 2020 NYE Downtown Countdown, The Algonquin Theatre (Huntsville) and The Here on Earth Music Festival.
The Hillbirds originated from husband and wife duo, Nick and Nicole Duquette, who realized that their dream to make music together would be better served with a band after they had been playing as a duo in France, where they ventured in 2017.
Now based in Barrie, The Hillbirds are working on their first studio album and have an ever growing list of upcoming performances.
They will be performing at Jim Ostler Contracting at 166 Mississaga St. E. during the festival, which runs April 23-25.
