The death of a 77-year-old man marks Ontario's first COVID-19 fatality

Ontario’s Ministry of Health confirmed Ontario’s first COVID-19 related death today.

The 77-year-old man died in Barrie at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, as confirmed by Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit.

The health unit says this case was related to a case they reported on Sunday.

A person was hospitalized on March 15, and health officials say this death is related to that case.

Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit confirmed the person who died was not the original patient admitted to RVH on Sunday.
