Freezing rain warning in effect for:
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Significant freezing rain will persist this evening.

Freezing rain is falling across most of the area this evening as temperatures hover near or just below the zero degree mark.

As a warm front gets closer tonight, the freezing rain will slowly change over to rain overnight as temperatures inch above the zero degree mark.

Roads and walkways may be hazardous due to slippery conditions. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise extreme caution or postpone travel until conditions improve by Tuesday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Utility outages may occur.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
