Many people enjoyed participating in the Golf for Kids' Sake last year; this foursome practised their putts prior to the event. This year's event takes place Friday at Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club.

Big Brother Big Sisters of Orillia and District (BBBS) is excited to announce a new venue, Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club, for the 24th annual Golf for Kids’ Sake.

On Aug. 23, pack your golf bag and come out to Hawk Ridge in Severn Township for this year’s golf tournament in support of BBBS. For only $500, per team of four, golfers can look forward to a full breakfast buffet, 18 holes of golf, lunch, and the opportunity to win great prizes through contests and giveaways throughout the day.

“We are looking forward to having Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia for this important event,” said Kandas Bartlett, general manager, Hawk Ridge. “Our course is in pristine playing condition and we are sure golfers will have a great time.”

All proceeds this year will be designated to our school-based programs, through which the agency serves up to 250 children annually. Big Brothers Big Sisters relies solely on funds obtained through community support for the success of its operations and programs.

“We appreciate the community’s support of our yearly golf tournament,” said Lorie-Anne Roberts, executive director, BBBS Orillia.

"The golf tournament is one of four signature events, curling, bowling, and hockey, funds from which make it possible for children and youth in our community to receive the positive benefits from mentoring," said Roberts.

Agency staff and board members believe investing in children is important for a safe and prosperous future for the community.
