Gore Mutual Foundation donates $10,000 to YMCA Simcoe Muskoka

To celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary, the Gore Mutual Foundation is giving over $1 million to organizations across the country to help better communities in 150 ways. Through their 150 Ways campaign, Gore Mutual Foundation, in partnership with Howard Noble Insurance Brokers in Collingwood has donated $10,000 to the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.

The money donated will help support healthy, active living in the community by providing financial assistance to children, adults and seniors in Simcoe, Muskoka and Parry Sound to participate in YMCA programs.

We have been a proud part of the Georgian Bay Community for over 70 years and like Gore Mutual, we truly believe in the power of people helping people. The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka provides a wide variety of programs and services across the communities of Simcoe, Muskoka and Parry Sound. YMCA programs inspire people to reach their full potential - through a variety of programs like swim lessons, licensed child care, leadership training for the not-for-profit sector, or camps for children, youth and families. The YMCA believes everyone deserves the opportunity to lead healthy lives.

Last year the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka provided over $1,000,000 in financial assistance to 15,000 children, youth, adults and seniors to access to YMCA programs. Donations to the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka ensure access to these quality programs and services including – health, fitness and recreation programs, education, child care, immigrant and employment services, camp, youth leadership, volunteer development and more.

“The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is thrilled to receive this funding from Gore Mutual Foundation and Howard Noble Insurance Brokers,” said Rob Armstrong, CEO, YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. “Financial commitments of this kind allow the Y to continue to positively impact community health and wellbeing and deliver programs to everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, religion or ability to pay.”
