Caroline Mulroney has the energy, enthusiasm and talent that the Conservative Party should be looking for in a leader.
In these challenging times for the party, she can unify the current members and attract people of all ages and communities to join us in the months ahead.
She wants the job. She will work hard to win it. She will attract legions of supporters.
Caroline is the only leadership contender who committed months ago to run as a candidate. The party is fortunate to have three announced candidates who bring different experience and skill-sets to the contest. The winner will benefit from a keen and experienced set of candidates who have won nominations to date and others seeking nominations still to be held.
Recent events in the party should not discourage us. Contrast the situation with that of the Liberal Party. We have no trouble attracting candidates. Liberals have faced several 'retirements' of long-time cabinet ministers and MPPs who don't want to face another election apologizing for a tired premier with more baggage than a carousel at Pearson Airport.
I encourage those Progressive Conservative supporters who want a fresh start to support Caroline Mulroney. Join the party before Friday, Feb. 16 and vote for real change.
