NEWS RELEASE
YMCA OF SIMCOE/MUSKOKA
*************************
The fourth annual YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka fundraiser called Move to Give will take place simultaneously in eight communities within our region.

To kick start this massive fundraising event, 78 YMCA child care and school age programs across Simcoe/Muskoka hosted a mini fundraiser called Moving and Grooving. Children and their families collected 'change to make change' in their communities across the region and raised over $24,000 towards the event goal of $100,000.

Move to Give participants will keep the momentum going on April 7 by challenging themselves physically while at the same time, giving back to their community.

Supporting YMCA programs through this event promotes better health and physical activity within our communities, and eliminates the financial barriers that many children, youth and adults are facing.

Last year, more than 1,300 people in eight communities across Simcoe/Muskoka joined together on one day and raised funds to help provide over 15,000 people with access to YMCA programs.

This year, we hope to exceed that number. Without the support of our communities, the YMCA would not be able to provide these important services to our communities.
