CFUW Orillia is pleased to welcome Toronto Star investigative reporter, Kevin Donovan, as guest speaker on Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Orillia Museum of Art and History, 30 Peter St. S.

A 30-year veteran of the Toronto Star, Donovan has broken major national stories, such as the allegations of sexual assault by CBC host Jian Ghomeshi, and the drug problems of former mayor, Rob Ford.

Recent investigative reporting of the Sherman murders, plus other stories, exemplify that Donovan is considered to be one of the best of Canada’s traditional journalism, as it adapts and innovates amid the current revolution in mass media.

He has won three National Newspaper Awards, two Michener Awards, and three Canadian Association of Journalists Awards. He is also the author of numerous books, such as The Dead Times and Secret Life: The Jian Ghomeshi Investigation.

He says, “Journalism is a calling. Enjoy the ride.” CFUW welcomes guests and new members. For more information please visit www.cfuworillia.org.
