The following information was submitted by the Ganaraska Hiking Club:

Yesterday was an ideal, sunny day for the regular Thursday trek of the Ganaraska Hiking Club. On Thursday, the group hiked through a track of the Simcoe County Forest near the intersection of Oro-Medonte’s 7th Line and Bass Lake Side Road.

It was the best conditions for winter hiking experienced yet. Organizers contend there’s never an end to the hiking season and anyone can come on out and join the crew. Just contact Isobel at 705-325-6578 for more information.

The group will celebrate its 50th anniversary, in part, with a public hike on April 21. The group will leave from the Regan House parking lot of Scout Valley at 10 a.m.
