Feeling hard-pressed to find that perfect gift for the foodie in your life? Lakehead University Orillia has curated the perfect holiday gift for your favourite culinary critic or home cook.

This holiday season, wrap up two tickets to our exclusive event, Talk, Tipple and Taste with Claire Tansey, on Jan. 24, along with Tansey’s new cookbook, Uncomplicated: Taking the Stress Out of Home Cooking.

Tansey is the former food director of Chatelaine magazine, as well as a current CityLine chef, recipe developer, and culinary teacher. She will talk about what spices to store in the cupboard, the kitchen gadgets worth having, and some key staples that every home cook should stock for uncomplicated, delicious weeknight meals and dinner parties.

The all-inclusive ticket also includes complimentary refreshments and samples of five uncomplicated recipes: spiced party nuts, mushroom and thyme pâté, cheese with chili honey, and, for those with a sweet tooth, date-coconut squares and one-pot chocolate pecan brownies.

Tansey will also take questions and sign copies of her cookbook. It’s the perfect gift for someone with an appetite for not only fantastic food, but a fun foodie experience.
