Thunderwolves Olympics, folk fest among orientation activities at Orillia campus

First-year students have been breaking the ice at Lakehead University as they prepare to start school.

The Orillia campus has been offering a variety of activities to allow new students to get to know one another and have some fun.

A folk festival took place Thursday, followed by the opening commencement Friday.

Students then headed outside to take part in the Thunderwolves Olympics, working in teams to tackle a number of challenges.

On Saturday, the Thunderwolves Give Back event will take place at the University Avenue campus, where students will make blankets for children on the pediatric floor of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

Georgian College will hold its orientation Tuesday, when students will enjoy free breakfast followed by a rally in the gym and then free lunch.
