The Orillia Public Library is excited to welcome Jamie Lamb, author of Christmas in Mariposa, on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. to read from his popular book and answer audience questions.

Christmas in Mariposa has been described as “a treasure to go on the shelf alongside Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town."

Lamb’s stories showcase larger-than-life characters from his childhood, as they go through events and experiences that took place during the Christmas season in “Mariposa.” These poignant, charming, and often laugh-out-loud funny stories have resonated deeply with people across the country and have had an even stronger effect on local readers, who recognize familiar characters, landmarks and ultimately, parts of themselves in these rich tales.

Jamie is pleased to return to the area as he currently resides in Tsawwassen, B.C. but was born and raised in Orillia. His parents were well known to the community as his father, James B. Lamb, was a publisher of the Orillia Daily Packet & Times and his mother, Ruby, wrote Ask Miss Bassett, a local advice column for dogs. Jamie also worked for the Orillia Daily Packet & Times as a reporter and has been a columnist for The Vancouver Sun. He is also a regular commentator on CBC’s Morningside and Newsworld and has written for numerous Canadian and U.S. magazines.

Please visit the Library website to register for this free, in-person event. Everyone welcome.
