Gaia Orion, an Orillia artist with a successful international career, is being featured in a solo exhibit at the Aurora Cultural Centre.
A contemplation on women’s qualities and leadership in today’s world, and the potential for transformation, Orion's new exhbit, She Flourishes: Creating a Vision for a Peaceful World opens Saturday, Oct. 5 from 1-4 p.m. at the Aurora Cultural Centre.
Orion has exhbited the world over at galleries in Paris, Moscow, New York and San Francisco and has received awards of excellence from Manhattan Arts International.
This will mark her first professional exhibit in Ontario. Her work is featured in the Orillia Museum of Art & History gift shop and she has, in the past, participated in the Images Studio Tour and the local annual women's art exhibition.
Her new exhibition in Aurora continues through Nov. 16.
Orion's colourful, detailed harmonious oil paintings are narratives of the personal and collective stories in these challenging times.
Uniting our vision and natural talents can become a catalyst for individual and collective change so that we can move together towards a healthier humanity.
The exhibition She Flourishes: Creating a Vision for a Peaceful World is a conversation about women’s qualities and leadership in today’s world, and how women have the powerful potential to transform.
Feminine intrinsic qualities of intuition, compassion, inclusiveness, interconnectedness that have been marginalized for centuries are now rising to their full expression and are shaping a new world. This exhibition celebrates the feminine through the use of bold, colourful, symbolic imagery created on oil on canvas.
