Imagine yourself in a riverside studio in the Ecuadorian cloud forest with a group of writers who have a desire to enhance their skills and improve creativity.

That’s where the second annual Writers’ Retreat is being offered by best-selling author and writing coach, Sue Kenney, and EarthTreks’ founder, Alison Braun, this November.

The two local women will team up to offer a writing retreat in Braun’s second home in Mindo, Ecuador. Based on the first year’s success, the retreat was recently recognized as one of the “Three Best Writing Retreats Around the World” by Writers Boon. The two organizers were thrilled with this honour.

One of last year’s participants in the writers’ retreat, Katherine Parent, Nutritionist and Owner of Make Good Choices in Barrie, says “Sue has such an excellent process. She can intuitively pull the writer out of anyone.”

Retreat Leader, Sue Kenney, has a screenplay in development and is the author of three books including the popular best-seller My Camino. Sue is well known internationally as a Camino Coach, a proponent of earthing and bare footing and she presently studying to be an instructor in the Wim Hof Method.

“We will provide the perfect environment for tapping into your highest form of creativity,” says Kenney, who offers daily writing workshops and creative games throughout the day to help writers get their story ideas onto paper and be productive.

We will tap into the lush natural surroundings, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, to enrich your writing. The group will embark on guided walks in the forest along with other daily cultural activities and numerous local tours offered in Mindo, including a chocolate, butterfly, orchid, hummingbird, and coffee tour, all of which retreaters take part in.

Participants will also have the opportunity to plant a tree as part of EarthTreks’ reforestation project, adding to the 13,500 trees already growing there.

The next retreat is set to take place Nov. 3-11, 2018 in the new riverside studio in Mindo that Braun has built to accommodate different types of retreats. For more information about the upcoming writers’ retreat click here or email Braun at [email protected]
