On Monday at approximately 7:35 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment were dispatched to investigate a report of robbery that had just occurred in a Midland home.
Investigation reveals that a lone male entered the home, approached two victims and an altercation occurred. One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Southern Georgian Bay Crime Unit, Southern Georgian Bay scenes of crime officer and K-9 Unit were called in to assist in the investigation.
One person has been arrested and charged with the following:

Robbery with weapon contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Assault with a weapon contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code

Assault contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code

Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Break and enter contrary to Section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
-
Fail to comply with probation order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
Police believe this to be an isolated incident and feel there are no public safety concerns. The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Southern Georgian Bay Crime Unit. The name of the accused is being withheld until further investigation is complete.
