Man faces drunk driving charges after striking two trees and a house

After losing control of vehicle and striking one tree, driver crossed road, struck another tree and collided with the porch of a house

BRADFORD, ON - On Saturday June 15, 2019 at 10:15 p.m. a 21-year-old Bradford man, lost control of his vehicle on Downey Emerald Drive striking a tree on the boulevard. The man, drove back on to the roadway losing control again and striking another tree and then the porch of a house.

No one was injured, and the owner of the house came out to survey the porch damage. The driver left the scene and then returned when officers arrived.

While speaking to an officer, the man smelled of alcohol and was given a roadside test which he failed. The man was arrested and taken to the station for further test, that showed he was over the limit of 80 mgs.

The man now faces charges of Operation while impaired- alcohol, and Operation while impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration. The man had his vehicle impounded for seven days and lost his licence for 90 days.

Our officers patrol 24/7 with an eye for impaired drivers and we conduct routine RIDE checks. Members of the public are very important in the fight against impaired driving. Thank you to the citizens who call 9-1-1 and alert our officers to impaired drivers. Impaired is impaired whether it is by drug or alcohol.
