New Path Youth and Family Services (New Path) will welcome Elizabeth McKeeman as the new Chief Executive Officer to the agency on June 1.

The Simcoe County-wide child and youth mental health (CYMH) agency and Lead Agency for CYMH provides timely and responsive child and youth mental services for children, youth and their families.

McKeeman has worked at New Path since 1986 and has held a variety of positions since then.

As a Clinical Manager she oversaw service portfolios ranging from youth justice services to the Intensive Live-In Treatment services in Cookstown (formerly known as residential treatment). In 2013, she was named the Director of Service and then Chief Operating Officer in 2016.

“The Board of Directors has selected an excellent successor for the position of CEO,” says Glen Newby, outgoing New Path CEO.

“Elizabeth and I have worked closely together for a number of years, and I am confident that her experience and leadership skills place New Path in very good hands as we navigate future challenges and opportunities in this sector.”

This appointment follows an extensive search process that identified both current and future needs in the organization and determined the leadership skills and experience required to ensure that New Path can continue to provide the highest quality of services to children and families in Simcoe County.

“I have dedicated my entire career to children’s mental health and remain energized and passionate about helping to improve the lives of children, youth and their families in Simcoe County,” says McKeeman, incoming New Path CEO.

“I look forward to continuing to work on the foundation that has been built in our region for an integrated and responsive mental health system.”

McKeeman holds a Masters of Social Work Degree and is a registered social worker. She also has executive leadership and not-for-profit management training from the renowned Rotman School of Management in Toronto and Queen’s University in Kingston.

She currently resides in Barrie with her husband, has two grown children and is a proud grandmother to a three-month-old baby boy.
