Ontario reports 213 new COVID cases Sunday

Public Health Ontario has reported 213 new COVID-19 cases in today's report (July 4). 

The July 4 update includes nine deaths, and 286 recoveries. 

Saturday's update provided by the province's public health agency also reported the following data:

  • 158 COVID-positive people are currently hospitalized in Ontario, down from 206 on Friday. 
  • There are 235 patients in intensive care units with COVID-related illness (of those, 58 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • 159 people are on ventilators due to COVID-related illness (of those, 34 no longer test positive for COVID-19).
  • The province reported 18,989 tests were processed yesterday

Vaccines

  • There were 196,068 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 administered yesterday.
  • 15,561,071 doses of vaccine have been administered.
  • 5,554,637 people have been fully vaccinated

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 545,803 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 534,558 recoveries and 9,214 deaths.
