The Orillia Business Women's Association (OBWA) was back to fun and business on Sept. 11. This group is a safe and welcoming place for all women to meet once a month for a great dinner, guest speaker, networking and just plain fun.

We have speakers who talk about current and relevant topics that get helpful information out to the community and we all know that knowledge is power. Our guest speaker in September was Dr. Liz Saul and a dog in training, Red, from COPE service dogs.

In October local artist, Connie Archer will lead us in a paint night and in November we will recognize the significance of Remembrance Day. December will be our annual Christmas party. Come out and have a great time with an amazing group of women.

Founded in 1987, the Orillia Business Women’s Association is a non-profit, non-fundraising group that gathers for the purpose of networking and having fun in a safe and welcoming environment. ALL women are welcome whether in business or not.

We meet every second Wednesday of each month at the Best Western PLUS Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre, 400 Memorial Ave., Orillia at 5:30 p.m. A networking table is set up to display business cards, products or information handouts.

Dinner is served at 6:30 (the cost is $30 for members or first-time guests and non-members pay $37). After dinner, there is usually a presentation by a guest speaker. A one-year membership is only $70 per year.
