Skiing and snowshoeing was enjoyed by many as was the camaraderie, lunch and hot apple cider in iconic cabin

On Saturday, Feb. 15, about 20 people from the Orillia Naturalists’ Club arrived at the Hermitage, in Oro-Medonte for a winter outing.

Some came early and left early, some came early and left late. Groups and couples skied, snowshoed or walked the trails, sometimes only part of the trail, sometimes all of the trail, and some did the trail twice.

Some just sat in the iconic cabin at the Hermitage for the camaraderie, and lunch. The cabin smelled of boiling apple cider.

Although the temperature warmed up, the cold wind continued, especially before the trails entered the forest, where the wind was blocked.

Marilyn and Tanya Clark organized this successful outing, and Ron and Sharon welcomed us into their warm cabin.
